This is a striking vintage Azilal rug sourced from the markets of Marrakesh, Morocco. It is a deep red color with colorful symbolic designs outlined in black and with fringe at one end. I love the lighter red panel at one end, which makes this rug truly one-of-a-kind.
From the Azilal region of the northern Atlas Mountains, Azilal rugs are single-knotted and incorporate ancestral myths into their designs using archaic images and symbols.
