The Story
This is a stunning vintage M'Rirt rug sourced from the markets of Marrakesh, Morocco. It is a thick and plush wool rug in a deep blue with purple undertones and gray fringe at one end. These monochromatic M'Rirt rugs are some of my favorite and the dimensions of color in this particular rug make it extra special!
From the M'Rirt region of the middle Atlas Mountains, M'Rirt rugs soft and thick wool died with natural colors and made to sustain cold winter nights. They incorporate tribal symbolism and the point of view of the women who weave them.
